Cleveland Winter > Cincinnati Winter

February 4th, 2009

One of the things I dislike about Cincinnati is the lack of snow.  That’s right I said it: I LOVE SNOW.  BRING ON THE WHITE DEATH.  Like so:

Snow in the NoRo

That’s my parents’ house and they have nearly three feet of snow.  Ten inches fell last night alone and yet there was no snow day for the kiddies.  Clevelanders are hard core when it comes to winter.  I love it.

Really, though, the best part of the picture is the snow shovel in the background.  Really, Dad?  Really? No one believes that.

Merry Christmas, Jug Band Style

December 20th, 2008

If you haven’t seen Emmet Otter’s Jug Band Christmas, do yourself a favor and watch it this Christmas.  It’s a classic.

Posting will be light (or nonexistent) over the next few weeks as my husband and I once again travel to The Cleve for the holidays.  Yesterday I ran 9 minutes, walked 2, ran 8, and it was warm enough to do it outside.  It gets tough to run around the YMCA’s indoor track as the distances get longer because I feel like a hamster in a wheel.  One mile takes nine laps!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!

Bonus Jug Band action after the jump!

Taking It Up A Notch

November 26th, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving!

This week was supposed to be 1 min run/1 min walk x 10.  But I decided to step it up and go for 2 min run/1 min walk x 7 on Monday (and Wednesday and Friday).  Good times!

We’d All Like To Flee To The Cleve

Short post this week because I’m headed to Northern Ohio for the long Thanksgiving weekend.  Rumor has it that they have 6-12″ of snow, so I’m packing my gear in preparation for a chilly Friday morning run.  Gotta burn off some of that green bean casserole and pumpkin spice cake and turkey!
