Taking It Up A Notch

November 26th, 2008

Happy Thanksgiving!

This week was supposed to be 1 min run/1 min walk x 10.  But I decided to step it up and go for 2 min run/1 min walk x 7 on Monday (and Wednesday and Friday).  Good times!

We’d All Like To Flee To The Cleve

Short post this week because I’m headed to Northern Ohio for the long Thanksgiving weekend.  Rumor has it that they have 6-12″ of snow, so I’m packing my gear in preparation for a chilly Friday morning run.  Gotta burn off some of that green bean casserole and pumpkin spice cake and turkey!

It Begins

November 21st, 2008

One week down, twenty-two to go.  This week I started off with a very basic walk/run program that lasted about 20-25 minutes.  I’ll be incorporating more running and less walking over the next few weeks, and then stretching that into longer runs.  Monday’s run was in the snow, which was very pretty and fortunately did not stick to the ground and make things slick.  However, this prompted me to look into joining the YMCA which is right down the street from my house (literally within walking distance).  It ain’t cheap ($64?!?!  A month?!?!  For realsies?!), but it beats navigating wintery streets in the dark.

Cincinnati Flying Pig

November 15th, 2008

That’s right, party people, I’ve decided to sign up for the Flying Pig this year.  I will be running in my first half marathon.  I will occasionally update this page with details about my training progress.

Training starts Monday, Nov 17.
